For this shot I placed the model (my father David) in front of a black background. My Nikon D5300 was on a tripod and I use a strobe light source without the light box just behind the camera to get this front lighting effect.
Side Lighting
For my side lighting shot I changed only the light source to the side of the model which half lite his face.
Above Lighting
For the above lighting shot I had the assistance of another person (MOM) to hold the light source above the models head. I think the above was the hardest just because the model was wearing a hat.
Ghost Lighting
OMG!!! This was the best shot I had so far. The only thing different in this shot was that they model was holding a flash light which could be seen in the photo (oops)
Back Lighting
For the back lighting I took the light source which was on a tripod and placed it directly behind the models head to get a back lite effect.
Rembrandt Lighting
For the Rembrandt lighting I placed the model on a 45 degree angle and place the lighting source on the same plane. I lowered the light source to get the triangle on the models check.
